ASCENT INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL
June 23- July 13, 2024

Ascent International Chamber Music Festival is an opportunity for outstanding string players and pianists age 14-30 to study solo and chamber music repertoire in an intensive setting. Ascent goes beyond the practice room to develop the musician as a whole.  In 2024, the Chamber Music Festival will take place for the first time on the campus of Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, OH. Memorial Day Concert:  "Up, Up, and Away!"

This year’s theme is Up, up, and Away! with music from Wicked, Fly Me to the Moon, Themes from Rocky and the Infernal Dance of Katschei and Finale from Stravinsky’s Firebird. We will pay tribute to Veterans with our traditional Armed Forces Salute. This event is free to all.  Bring your lawn chair, picnic, and pets and enjoy the start of BAMSO's summer season!

Music in the Museum Center

April 24, 2024 | 7:30 - 9:30pm

The Christ Church Cathedral Choir joins the Choir of St. Peter in Chains Cathedral and organist Ken Cowan for a concert in the Cincinnati Museum Center rotunda! Music will include choral favorites such as Parry’s “I Was Glad” and Dove’s “Seek Him that Maketh the Seven Stars.”

Music Live at Lunch: Clark and Jones Trio

Enjoy traditional Celtic, Appalachian, and original music for violin, Celtic harp, guitar, and percussion. The trio is comprised of Jude Jones, Frank Clark, and Nancy Bick Clark. Music Live at Lunch is a free, weekly concert series featuring a variety of music. Bring your own lunch or buy one at the cathedral. When Cincinnati Public Schools close due to inclement weather, Music Live at Lunch will also be canceled.

Begin your week with a time of reflection as you hear ancient texts of prayer and praise sung by the Christ Church Cathedral Choir. Music will include canticles by Herbert Howells (the St. Paul’s Service), Benjamin Britten’s Festival Te Deum, and the premiere of “O Gracious Light” by Andrew Hackett, one of the cathedral’s composition competition winners.

Dr. Brianna Matzke, pianist and founder of The Response Project, takes center stage at the American Sign Museum on May 5. This intimate concert experience, starting at 6pm, will showcase Brianna's solo piano performance, demonstrating the creativity that has arisen from her essential tremor diagnosis.This evening features a solo piano performance of five newly commissioned compositions by Molly Joyce, Hanna Benn, Matthew Evan Taylor, Adeliia Faizullina, and Forrest Pierce, followed by a panel discussion exploring the project's themes of inclusion, accessibility, and personal expression.
