Jack & Lucille Wonnell Young Artist Concerto Competition 2021
Four divisions:

1) Strings (violin, viola, cello, double-bass)

2) Keyboard (piano, harpsichord, organ, etc.)

3) Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, Guitar and Harp, etc.4) Musicians 13-and-under (all instruments)

First Place: $200 (each category) and a chance to perform with the Orchestra

Second Place: $100 (each category)

Social distancing and current Covid protocols will be followed.
Deadline: Postmarked no later than November 19, 2021.

Organ Recital | Sunday, November 6, 7:00 PM

Organ scholar Stella O’Neill presents a program of French music on the new cathedral organ in fulfillment of her second doctoral recital. Music will include works by Louis-Nicolas Clérambault and Louis Vierne. Stella will be joined by Katie Hughes for Joe Utterback’s piano-organ duet Dreamscape. No admission charge.

This year we especially remember the more than 600,000 in the U.S. and the millions worldwide who have died from the coronavirus. As a tribute, we offer Fauré’s beloved Requiem in the composer’s original scoring for choir, organ, and orchestra.

The solo violin works of Bach are considered the cornerstone of the violin repertoire. Acclaimed by The New York Times as “a masterly Bach interpreter”, Jennifer Koh performs this epic season opener. Koh is revered as a forward-thinking artist dedicated to exploring a broad and eclectic repertoire while promoting diversity and inclusivity in classical music.

Peanut Butter and Jam: A Royal Renaissance

 

A mythological, fairy-tale adventure! You will be experiencing the music of the Renaissance while playing your best make believe. The recorder, guitar, trumpet, and drums join us as we explore the music from the time of kings, queens, dragons, and knights. Children will dance and move along with the musicians, while exploring the unique sounds of this time period. Feel free to come in costume if you like, and be prepared for lots of medieval fun!
