2019 Jack & Lucille Wonnell Young Artist Concerto Competition

Four divisions:

1) Strings (violin, viola, cello, double-bass)

2) Keyboard (piano, harpsichord, organ, etc.)

3) Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, Guitar and Harp, etc.

4) Musicians 13-and-under (all instruments)

A first place performing prize will be awarded to a young instrumentalist in each division. 

First place winners in all divisions will receive $200 as well as the opportunity to perform with the Orchestra.

Second place winners will receive $100 and may be asked to replace the first place winner in the event that he or she could not perform with the orchestra.

Outstanding applicants may be offered the opportunity to participate in a BAMSO sponsored recital and also to perform in area schools.

Eligibility:  Area students age 18 and under, not enrolled in college (pre-college) who were not first place winners in their chosen division in the prior year.
 

*Deadline: Postmarked no later than November 16, 2019

Founder’s Birthday Celebration

 

Celebrate the 90th birthday of Linton’s founder, Dick Waller, with chamber music masterpieces for winds. Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra principals Christopher Pell and Ilya Finkelshteyn join pianist Orli Shaham for Brahms’s Clarinet Trio. The celebration wraps up with Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds featuring Shaham and Pell along with Dwight Parry, William Winstead, and Elizabeth Freimuth.
